Ulises Wensell is a well-known Spanish illustrator with more than 160 titles, primarily published in Europe, to his credit. He is the recipient of Spain's Premio Lazarillo and Premio Nacional awards and Japan's Owl Prize, and he was Spain's nominee for the Andersen Award in 2009. But Ulises claims the most meaningful award is seeing young readers enjoy and relate to his artwork. To this end, Ulises has always believed his primary goal is conveying emotions through easy-to-read images.
