Susan Guevara
 
Susan Guevara was honored as the first recipient of the Pura Bel Pré Award in 1995 for her illustrations in Chato's Kitchen and won the award a second time for her illustrations in Chato and the Party Animals (Putnam, 2000). Susan Guevara also illustrated Tiger Tiger by Dee Lillegard (Putnam, 2002), My Daughter My Eagle My Son My Dove, by Ana Castillo (Dutton, 2000), Jane Yolen's Not One Damsel in Distress (Harcourt, 2000), Emmet's Snowball by Ned Miller (Holt, 1990), The King's Commissioners by Aileen Friedman (Scholastic, 1995) and Arthur Levine's Boardwalk Princess (Tambourine, 1993). More recently she illustrated Lady in the Blue Cloak (Holiday House, 2006) and Numero Uno (Abrams, 2007).
